Saxony is like no other region of Germany influenced by Mechanical Engineering in all its diversity. For this reason there are good opportunities for a university to offering practical orientated education, which is reflected in the degree programs provided by the faculty.
In the degree programmes Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering and Production Technology, the eight semesters diploma courses will be maintained in the future. Since the winter semester 2010, the courses are modularized.
In the degree program Chemical Engineering, the bachelor course extends over seven semesters (incl. practical semester) and can be complemented by a consecutive master's program with three semesters. Imparting practical knowledge requires continuous review and adjustment of the syllabus in terms of its practical applicability.
The results of many research activities find their way into the courses and keep education up to date. In recent years many laboratories have been established in which the students are confronted with the latest technology. There can be implemented knowledge from lectures in practical applications.
During the practical study semester and the making of documents or diploma, bachelor and master theses, research collaborations can be used in many ways.
