Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Saxony is influenced by Mechanical Engineering in all its diversity more than any other region of Germany. For this reason, there are excellent opportunities for a university to offer practically orientated education.
Students at the HTW Dresden acquire a solid foundation understanding of Mechanical Engineering during a three semester study programme. The respective subject specialisation takes place from the 3th semester.
Due to the demand and the positive experience of recent years, we continue to offer the Diploma degree. This is regularly achieved in all four programmes (General Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, Vehicle Engineering and Production Engineering) after 8 semesters.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has a wide variety of modern labs and therefore offers students optimal conditions for the practical application of the lecture material. All courses are offered on campus directly at the main station; students remain so throughout in "the heart" of the city of Dresden. For more information about the programme and the respective conditions of entry, please use the links to the course websites (menu item STUDYING).
