Erasmus + Internship (SMP)

If you wish to apply for an Erasmus+ internship, please contact the LEONARDO Office

Student internships (SMP) must last at least 2 months and may not exceed 12 months. Both compulsory internships as well as optional internships are supported.
Graduates can also complete an internship within the framework of Erasmus+.

  • Erasmus+ Student Mobility of Placement (SMP)
  • Internship in a foreign company (SMP) or
  • Internship at a foreign university (SMP), which is usually not an Erasmus+ partner university of the HTW Dresden

Advantages of the programme are in particular:

  • financial support (mobility grant)
  • recognition of internship achievements
  • secured support by the company and the Leonardo Office
  • secured internship activities through the EU Internship Contract

Erasmus+ funding

The financial support of Erasmus+ student stays is based on the different living costs in the destination countries. Erasmus+ interns receive at least 100 Euros per month in addition to Erasmus+ study visits.

The scholarship rates since winter semester 2018/19 are as follows:

Group 1:
520, - € / month
Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom
Group 2:
460, - € / month
Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus
Group 3:
400, - € / month
Bulgaria, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary

Einsendeschluss der Bewerbungsunterlagen erfolgt bis maximal 6 Monate vor Praktikumsbeginn.

Ein Rechtsanspruch auf Förderung durch das Erasmus-Programm besteht nicht und kann daher nicht gegenüber der Hochschule geltend gemacht werden.

Academic recognition

If you successfully complete an Erasmus+ internship abroad, and the internship is a compulsory part of your degree course or programme, it will be fully recognised by the home institution using ECTS as required by the Training Agreement.

Upon successfully completing an Erasmus+ internship abroad, the home university - as required in the "Training Agreement" - documents this internship stay in the Diploma Supplement (DS).

You may be denied recognition of the educational achievements in the host company if you fail to meet the academic / professional performance level required by the host company or if you have otherwise failed to meet the conditions required by the participating institutions for recognition.
