You have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and key competencies outside of your studies at the HTW or in accompaniment with a lecturer through the participation in a study trip or summer school. Such stays are usually linked to a host university and extend over a shorter period than study visits.
Study tours provide insight into a foreign education system. You can
- get to know a partner university of the HTW Dresden,
- socialise with local students,
- test foreign language skills
- acquire general cultural knowledge of the host country,
- get in contact with foreign professors and
- explore the possibilities of a thesis (diploma thesis, bachelor thesis, master thesis).
Study tours that are accompanied by a lecturer can be supported. Mandatory excursions can not be funded. Only university lecturers/professors may apply. Therefore, ask a professor from your faculty to submit a corresponding application to the International Office. The aim of the sponsorship is to provide foreign students with subject-related experience and contacts with foreign universities.
Further information can be obtained from the International Office.
In addition, some universities offer individual study tours, but these often involve participation fees. Often such study tours take the form of Summer Schools.
HTW Dresden group study tours that take place abroad and are under the supervision of a lecturer can be supported through PROMOS. The accompanying university lecturer/professor is the applicant. Ask this faculty professor to submit a request to the International Office.
