Student Advisory Service
The advisory services in the Department of Student Affairs advises and provides information on general questions concerning studies such as study requirements, study opportunities, application and admission modalities etc. You can find information material on the individual study programmes here
The subject-specific advisory services which answer subject-specific questions pertaining to study programmes is made available by the responsible faculties and the professors and/or academic deans tasked with providing advice.
Academic deans of the faculties:
The “All-round study service” ("Service rund ums Studium") comprises advice and support offered by the Student union Dresden to students with regard to financing studies, catering in the university restaurants and cafeterias, living in shared residence with fellow students, cultural promotion and daycare for small children in the kindergarten facilities. Assistance with everyday matters during study also includes social welfare advice, legal advice and psychological consultation.
Accordingly, a student union contribution is to be paid by every student along with the semester fee.
The student council at the HTW (StuRa) is an institution of the student body and has the following tasks:
- Handling students' subject-related, social and cultural matters
- Financial and social self-help for students, without prejudice to the responsibility of the student union
- Promoting voluntary student sports, without prejudice to the responsibility of the university
- Maintaining cross-regional and international study relationships
Fulfilling the tasks of the student body requires that a student body contribution is paid by the students along with the semester fee.
Agreements established between the student council and the transport association of Oberelbe means that the student ID card is also a travel ID card. This means for all direct students that, by paying the semester fee, a fee is paid for the semester ticket.
