Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Bachelor or Diploma Level
After a uniform basic study period in the Diploma and Bachelor’s study programme Electrical Engineering and Information Technology students can choose one of the following fields of study from the fourth semester:
- Automation Technology and Computer Engineering
- Electrical Power Engineering and Drive Technology
- Mechatronic Systems and Vehicle Mechatronics
- Communications Technology
Changing between the Bachelor and the Diploma study programme is easy. Both study programmes can also be completed part-time.
Depending on the job offers from industry, the Bachelor's study programmes can also be studied cooperatively in conjunction with vocational training culminating in a Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) qualification.
Distance Learning Course in Electrical Engineering / Communication Technology
The distance learning course in Electrical Engineering / Communication Technology enables students to study a programme culminating in a Diploma, in addition to their professional work. In addition to self-study components, this includes approx. 8 attendance days per semester (Saturdays), as well as a presence week in February and September. The proven distance learning study programme in Communication Technology was redesigned and now offers a broader scope with the degree qualification due to the wider selection of study disciplines in different areas of Electrical Engineering, in addition to the contents of Communication Technology.
Master’s in Electrical Engineering
The Master’s study programme in Electrical Engineering enables a consecutive continuation of studies culminating in the Master's degree M.Sc. (in 2 semesters with a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) degree and 240 ECTS or in 3 semesters with a B.Eng. and 210 ECTS or in 4 semesters with a B.Eng. and 180 ECTS ).
