The China Centre was established in 2011 with Prof. Yujie Yao at the faculty and university and implements a wide range of activities in the field of education, research and transfer between Germany and China. Our common goal here is to promote the exchange of students as well as to bring together colleagues with the same research interests.

About the person

Prof. Yujie Yao, came to Dresden in 2001 to study. As director, he heads the Dresden-Hangzhou Contact Office, which was set up together with the state capital Dresden in both partner cities.

Together with numerous German and Chinese partners, he supports cooperation in the fields of science, business, education and culture between the countries.

In 2014, he received recognition as an honorary professor from China Jiliang University in Dresden's twin city Hangzhou. Since 2009 he has been elected as a member of the Integration and Foreigners Advisory Council of the state capital Dresden and since 2012 as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Marwa El Sherbini Scholarship for Cosmopolitanism and Tolerance.
