THE DEAL AGREEMENT with Springer Nature
The most important facts at a glance:
- HTWD members receive reading access to around 2,900 Springer Nature journals.
- Springer Nature charges a publication fee of 2,600 euros (net) for publishing in one of the approximately 2,100 subscription journals ("Hybrid Open Choice").
- Springer Nature grants a 20 percent discount on the publication fee for a publication in one of the approximately 500 Gold Open Access journals ("Fully Open Access").
- Members of the HTWD can apply for a grant from the publication fund to pay these fees before submitting their publication.
The DEAL agreement with Springer Nature in detail:
By participating in the DEAL agreement with Springer Nature, HTWD members receive reading access to almost the entire journal contents on the Springer Nature platform, which includes around 2,900 titles.
The DEAL agreement continues to provide standardized conditions for Open Access publishing at Springer Nature: The publisher distinguishes between traditional subscription journals ("Hybrid Open Choice") and Gold Open Access journals ("Fully Open Access").
Springer Nature charges authors a publication fee of 2,600 euros (net) for a publication in one of the approximately 2,100 subscription journals. This fee applies to both open access and closed access publications. For a publication in one of the approximately 500 Gold Open Access journals, Springer Nature charges authors publication fees according to the current price lists. A discount of 20 percent is granted on these list prices on the basis of the DEAL agreement. For the payment of these fees, HTWD members can apply for a grant from the Publication Fund before submission.
