Last Monday, it was time once again to dive into the world of Lab X! At “Insight Lab X,” the current KickStart teams provided insights into their projects and their development.

In seven engaging short presentations, the audience learned what the teams were able to achieve with the help of Lab X during their funding period, where the biggest challenges lay, how they were overcome, and how the journey toward launching their own startups will continue. The projects presented ranged from plastic-free packaged shampoo samples to modularly developed guide dogs (robots) , hybrid systems designed to reduce digital distraction, and a remote maintenance system for servicing autonomous vehicles in the cleanrooms of semiconductor fabs. Through discussions with the audience following the presentations, attendees gained new inspiration and forged valuable connections during the networking session.

Want to bring your own ideas to life?

You have the ideas—we have the workshop! Lab X is the HTWD MakerSpace for developing, designing, and testing ideas. Lab X provides support from the initial concept phase all the way through to the first technical implementation. Creative and conceptual work is at the heart of this ideas workshop. HTWD students and staff can use Lab X for semester projects, repairs, and prototyping—or simply as a meeting place to exchange ideas, get involved, and explore new possibilities.

Lab X is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space as part of the “Research at Universities of Applied Sciences” funding program.
