Cooperations and Networks

University Alliances

The HAWtech University Alliance brings together six leading universities of applied sciences (UAS) in the MINT subjects. They are united by the conviction that excellent teaching and applied research and development are of great importance for successfully launching innovative products and processes in Germany as a business location. The common goal is to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises in particular as the engine of economic strength in regional networks through scientific, practice-oriented education of outstanding engineers and through joint research and development in the innovation process. In order to achieve this, the partner universities work closely together in teaching, research and administration. In addition, HAWtech is committed to increased promotion of research at universities of applied sciences.

The HAWtech-Universities concentrate especially on the application of new research results in order to implement them as quickly as possible in operational practice. This promotes close cooperation between all HAWtechs, companies and renowned German research institutions, including Helmholtz and Fraunhofer.

Participants are: FH Aachen, HTW Berlin, Hochschule Darmstadt, HTW Dresden, Hochschule Esslingen, Hochschule Karlsruhe

Since 2007, the five Saxon Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) have been working together conceptually and in terms of content to fulfil their missions in teaching and research. In future, the research-based transfer will also be carried out jointly as a third mission, which will raise cooperation to a new level. The five HAW of the Free State of Saxony bundle know-how and resources in the Transfer Network Saxony5 on the basis of a common transfer strategy. The self-image of the Transfer Network is a Smart University Grid for the intelligent networking of knowledge flows.
