Application procedure for the academic year 2021/22 at the HTW Dresden

For the academic year 2021/22, the HTW Dresden will be awarding particularly gifted and high-achieving students up to 77 Germany Scholarships. The actual number is based on the funds raised from private sources at the time of the award. In the academic year 2020/21, a total of 40 scholarships were awarded. The scholarships are awarded for a maximum of one year (1.9.2021 - 31.8.2022) and are paid out on a monthly basis. The amount of the monthly allowance is EUR 300.

Application procedure

All students who are enrolled at the HTW Dresden for the winter semester 2020/21 can apply.

Distinction and special achievements

  • Proof: Certificate, confirming activity in an apprenticeship

Profession (min. 12 months)​​​​​​​

  • Proof: Certificate of employment

Preparatory internship (min. 3 months, no compulsory internships, before commencing with undergraduate studies)​​​​​​​

  • Proof: Internship certificate

Study-related stay abroad (min. 6 months)​​​​​​​

  • Suitable proof (e.g. enrollment certificate from the host university, confirmation of the International Office representative)

Voluntary work, activity in associations during studies (minimum monthly activity)

  • Proof: Current confirmation from the organisation listing the type and scope of activity (proof of membership is not enough)

University ambassador of the HTW Dresden

  • Proof: Confirmation from the institution

Political commitment or participation in religious societies (minimum monthly activity)

  • Proof: Current confirmation (not older than 3 months) from the party or religious community listing the type and scope of activity (proof of membership is not enough); the party must be entitled to state funding in the current calendar year (attach proof); the religious community must be a so-called “Kdö.R” (proof attached)

Special intervention in crisis regions​​​​​​​

  • Proof: Confirmation from the institutions

Rescue / First Responder

  • Proof: Current confirmation from the institution (for First Responders not older than 24 months)

Voluntary social / ecological year​​​​​​​

  • Proof: Confirmation from the institution

University political commitment​​​​​​​

  • Proof: Confirmation from the Committee Chairman / Management Board confirming participation in committees at the University or trans-university student representations (recognition only if no semester committee attendance has already been recognised)

Caring for children (up to 12 years) within your own household

  • Proof: Child benefit certificate, registration certificate

Pertaining to caring for relatives

  • Proof: Pertaining to caring for relatives

Migration background

  • Proof: letter of motivation / explanation in the appropriate box of the application system

Chronic illness or disability

  • Proof: Severely handicapped person’s pass or medical confirmation (not older than six months) that there is a restriction to a full time study due to illness (without mentioning the diagnosis)

Competitive sport

  • Proof: Current certification from the Olympic Training Centre / Centre of Excellence (no recreational sports)

First-time academic

  • Proof: Indication of occupational training by the father and mother

Employment during studies / Assistance in parental responsibilities

  • Proof: Confirmation of the company
