Combining career and family is not always easy. HTW Dresden would like to support you with various measures. Within the framework of the family-friendly university audit, further offers are to be created in the future and existing measures are to be improved.

Consulting services

The Staff Council represents all employees of the university. Employees in the sense of the Staff Representation Act (§4 SächsPersVG) are all employees (formerly workers and salaried employees), but not professors, lecturers, visiting and honorary professors.

For the HTW as a whole and in all faculties, there are Equal Opportunity Officers who act as contact persons for equal opportunities at the HTW in general and to safeguard the interests of all women at the HTW Dresden.

Childcare

Above all, reliable, professional and regular childcare is of great importance for the compatibility of work and family.

The state capital Dresden offers numerous childcare options in childcare facilities and in daycare. You can find more information for parents about daycare in Dresden on the city's website. Via the parent portal of the city of Dresden, you can select your desired childcare facility and register for a childcare place.

In addition, HTW Dresden and the Studentenwerk Dresden support employees with family responsibilities with regular and flexible childcare options.

HTW Dresden supports the compatibility of work and family by providing its employees with places for children aged 9 weeks until they start school in two childcare facilities close to the campus. The childcare places are initially available until the child reaches the age of three. Depending on availability, a kindergarten place may be assigned following daycare. At least one parent (one parent with custody) must be employed at HTW Dresden.

HTW has occupancy spaces in the following facilities:

Day care center "Miniforscher"
under the auspices of the Studentenwerk Dresden
Zellescher Weg 41 d, 01217 Dresden
-> Care for children from the age of 9 weeks to 3 years old

Day care center "Spielwerk"
under the auspices of the Studentenwerk Dresden
Am Beutlerpark 6, 01217 Dresden
-> Care for children from the age of 1 year until they start school

Your contact person for registration at HTW is the Department of Human Resources(dezpersonal(at)htw-dresden.de).
