Erasmus+ funding for incoming students to HTWD
Erasmus+ offers students from European and non-European partner universities of HTWD the opportunity to receive Erasmus+ funding during an exchange program at HTWD.
EU countries
Information on Erasmus+ funding opportunities for students from EU countries can be obtained from the International Office at your home university. Incoming students from EU countries can find out about the application procedures on the website for exchange students.
Worldwide (KA171 partner countries)
In the Erasmus+ worldwide exchange programme, only incoming students from our Erasmus+ partner universities can receive a funding for a study visit of between 2 and 5 months at HTWD. Our current partner universities in the Erasmus+ program KA171 are:
- Georgian Technical University (GTU)
- International Black Sea University (IBSU)
Please check with your home university for current exchange places. Selection is made at your home university.
Your home university will select you and officially nominate you as an Erasmus+ exchange student to HTWD before you can apply. Only then you can apply for admission to HTWD. Information on the application process, course catalog, finding accommodation, enrollment, etc. can be found here.
The application deadline for stays in the summer semester (start of studies in mid-March) is November 15, and for the winter semester (start of studies at the end of September) is June 15.

Please note that you will not receive your Erasmus scholarship until you arrive in Germany. You are therefore responsible for organising and booking your flights, accommodation, visa and insurance in advance. The scholarship will only be transferred to bank accounts with a European IBAN. Therefore, there are two options:
01. opening a bank account at a German bank or savings bank after your arrival in Dresden.
To open an account in Dresden you will need
- Passport or identity card
- Confirmation of registration from the residents' registration office
- Letter of admission to study or student ID card
02. opening an online account (this can be done before you arrive in Germany)
The scholarship is usually paid within 3 weeks after your appointment at the International Office or after opening a German bank account on site. It is therefore strongly recommended that every scholarship holder arrives in Dresden with at least the amount required for the first month's expenses (including accommodation).
