GOING ABROAD FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Studying Abroad

All degree programmes of the Faculty of Business Administration offer students the possibility to complete part of their studies abroad at one of the numerous partner universities of HTWD – University of Applied Sciences as part of the Bachelor's or Master's cycle.

The application deadline for studying abroad for the winter AND summer semester is possible for all study programmes of the Faculty of Business Administration until February 15 each year. More information on the application procedure, financing and the documents to be submitted can be found centrally on the website of the International Office, in each case for studying abroad in Europe, worldwide and as a freemover.

In the Faculty of Business Administration, the fifth semester of study in the Bachelor's degree programmes and the second semester of study in the Master's degree programmes are particularly suitable for studying abroad.

For the recognition of study achievements gained during studying abroad, a Learning Agreement is concluded between HTWD – University of Applied Sciences and the partner university. More detailed information on the Learning Agreement is provided for both the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes of the Faculty of Business Administration in separate courses via the online platform OPAL. Further information and notes on the Learning Agreement are provided in the OPAL courses listed below. In addition, at the beginning of each summer semester (March or April), there is a separate information event on the Learning Agreement for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. If there are any further questions, please contact your dean of studies.

Organisational information and forms for the learning agreement can be found on the website of the International Office.

Landing at the airport in Helsinki marked the beginning of a semester abroad that far exceeded my expectations and became the best time of my studies. Thank you Erasmus, Kiitos Erasmus!

Together with international students who went from being haphazard strangers to best friends, I fully enjoyed the cultural diversity and academic exchange in Vilnius and the surrounding area.

Further offers

The HTWD – University of Applied Sciences and its partner universities regularly offer organized short stays with a fixed program. Information and current offers for financially supported study trips and summer schools can be found on the website of the International Office under Study Trips and Summer Schools.

The course Z011 – Intercultural Communication offers the opportunity to receive a so-called Certificate Intercultural Competencies. It certifies activities in the international field such as stays abroad, language courses, involvement in the integration of fellow students from abroad and intercultural training.

The certificate can be acquired by students of any subject.

Further information can be found both on the website of the International Office and Centre for Interdisciplinary Education.

For international experience before or after their stay abroad, students from all faculties of the HTWD – University of Applied Sciences can get involved as buddy and/or member in the student association faranto e.V., which is part of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). Further information on the work of the association and ways to get involved can be found on the website of the HTWD – University of Applied Sciences under faranto e.V..

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Education offers a weekly international language café in the media laboratory S515. Please note, a registration is not required.

The aim is to support international exchange between students in a pleasant atmosphere with a hot (or cold) drink. International students who want to expand their knowledge of the German language are therefore just as welcome as German-speaking students who want to support international students in language acquisition and at the same time want to work on their own language skills.

Current information on the event can be found on the website of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Education.
