What can I find at the branch library?

The branch library provides literature for the Faculty of Agriculture/Environment/Chemistry on the Dresden Pillnitz campus. Here you will find everything you need to know about horticulture, agriculture and forestry, the environment, landscape and open space development. You will also find a large reading room with current scientific journals, WLAN, numerous group as well as individual workstations.

Two different libraries in one building?

The branch library is located in the south wing of the Kammergut in the library of the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG).

In spite of common opening hours and premises, you will find two libraries operating separately on site - with different constellation systems and usage regulations. The cooperation between the two libraries of different institutions is regulated by the "Administrative Agreement on the Cooperation between the Saxon State Institute for Agriculture and the Dresden University of Applied Sciences of 12.09.2007".

How can I access the library holdings?

In the library catalogue of the HTW Dresden all print media and a large part of the e-media are listed. The literature of the LfULG library in Dresden-Pillnitz can be found via the online catalogue of the SMUL network.

How to borrow books?

Registered users can order and borrow holdings of the HTW from the other branch library in the central library as well as in the branch library. The branch library is visited twice a week by a university courier. LfULG holdings can be borrowed by HTW members after registration. External users can apply for an on-site registration at the library management of the LfULG. The usage of all holdings on site is possible without registration.

Where can I return my borrowed books?

HTW library media can be returned at either location, regardless of the possession branch. LfULG library media can only be returned in Pillnitz.
