The junior research group ISRADA addresses the need for interdisciplinary, work context-related implementation research with regard to the technical and (personnel- )economic framework conditions as well as the involvement of end users in the conception of service robotics use in complex social service areas using the example of in-patient geriatric care.
In concrete terms, the following four objectives are pursued:

  1. Analysis of the implementation conditions of the immediate work context in the care facility and development and piloting of a participation instrument for the employees there for participative workplace design for service robotics use.
  2. Analysis of the implementation conditions of the indirect work context via interviews with central stakeholders (strategic planners/decision-makers in geriatric care, employee and employer representatives and associations); derivation of a conditional model for the successful use of robotics in complex social service contexts.
  3. Intelligent Intuitive Human-Machine/Robot Interaction - Development of innovative dialogue models, in particular optimization of the interaction between technical assistance system, residents as well as nursing staff and therapists; furthermore multimodal recording of the intentions of the participants and adequate representation in a model.
  4. Usability Engineering - Technical implementation research considering all stakeholders.
