Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Laboratory for Forming and Machining Technology

In the Laboratory for Forming and Machining Technology, the practical courses for students on various manufacturing processes take place and the experimental investigations of the research projects are carried out.

The following equipment is available for the practice-oriented training and research that is standard at HTW Dresden:

  • Hydraulic forming press Wanzke HVZ 100
  • Hermle C 500 HSC milling machine with SPIKE® wireless cutting force measurement from pro-micron
  • Spinner TC 600 turning machining center
  • AutoGrid® comsmart deformation analysis system from ViALUX

CNC training (basics to HSC milling) with the EXAPT CAD/CAM system and workshops on FEM forming simulation with the Simufact Forming software take place in our own computer laboratory.
