Duration: since 1.1.2011
Funding: HTW Dresden
Project collaborators: Students of the HTW Dresden
Artificial Intelligence Lab: Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Hans-Joachim Böhme

Brief description

Mobile, intelligent and interactive service and assistance systems provide one of the central research foci in mainly interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence since about 15 years. The focus of this project is set to:

    • Application of a mobile, interactive robot platform at the HTW Dresden
    • Implementation of varios application scenarios, like
      • Mail distributor
      • Information kiosk
    • Speech based, intuitive control of mobile service and assistance systems
    • Adaptive local navigation for human robot interaction

All scenarions are meant to be developed and realized in the context of student projects.

    Research Platform

The project fundings allowed the acquisition of a research robot based on the SCITOS G5 model by the company MetraLabs. Regarding to the history of Saxony and Dresden the robot was baptized "Anna" ( referring to the most iconic mistress of August the Strong ). After some specific changes on the platform, the robot is available for experimental work since January 2011.
