Zum Forschungsaustausch spricht Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Mechtcherine, Direktor des Instituts für Baustoffe der Technischen Universität Dresden, zum Thema "Digital Concrete Technologies "made in Dresden":
Digitalization and automation in construction offer great potential concerning increases in productivity, creating more attractive jobs, and compensating for shortages of skilled labor. In his upcoming presentation, Prof. Mechtcherine will provide an overview of the original work on robotic fabrication in concrete construction at TU Dresden. He will focus on large-scale extrusion-based 3D concrete printing, solutions for integrating reinforcement in digital concrete technologies, and related challenges regarding computer vision, data processing, and process control. In particular, the presentation will cover the following key points:
- Large scale 3D concrete printing as an advancing construction technology
- Digital Concrete Fabrication: Natural environment for robots?
- Reinforcement as a challenge – integration issues
- Robot control: What one need to print safely and efficiently?
- Data and its central role in ensuring robustness and quality

The topic presents a vast terrain for potential collaborative projects with active participation from experts at TU Dresden, HTW, and other Dresden research institutions.
